PORTFOLIO

"When remodeling our home, Valerie was indispensable in helping me choose colors, textures, draperies. and wall décor to our open floor plan making it  appear seamless in terms of flowing from one room to the other, down the hallway in either direction and within the individual rooms themselves. She was also very helpful in assisting me work around items I wished to retain. Her pleasing personality made her a joy to work with!" - Jane Brown

B and A Exterior

The Pattison Project was my first flip house. After 4 months are renovations we sold the home in 7 days. For the updates to the exterior we white washed the brick, removed railing, leveled deck and replaced damaged boards, removed scrolling on front door and gave it a fresh coat of paint.

B and A Front Entry

Removed bulky spindles on half wall. Replaced stair railing and posts with up-to-code painted spindles and stained newell posts. DIY'ed the light fixture from polished brass to matte black and brushed brass finishes. Completed space of new paint and flooring.

B and A Front Living Room

Removed random wallpaper patches, old carpeting and baseboard heater. Updated the light fixture, paint and flooring.

B and A Dining and Hearth Room

Removed wall and railing that seperated the dining room from the hearth room. Removed the paneling that had string wallpaper attached to the face of it and the old carpeting. Hung new sheetrock, tape and textured the walls. Removed the popcorn ceiling. Painted the brick fireplace wall. Relocated dining room light location and hung the voted on light fixture. Upgraded the wall base. Completed the spaces with new ceiling and wall paint and LVP flooring.

B and A Kitchen

Removed soffit and beams, installed new custom cabinetry with a larger layout complete with a big island. Installed backsplash and added in 2 island pendants, a sconce over the sink and 6 recessed LED fixtures. Finished it off with new paint and flooring.

B and A Half Bath & Laundry Room

Removed paneling and old cabinetry as well as the vanity with the rust colored laminate top on it. Eliminated the baseboard heater and dingy metal blinds. Installed new painted cabinetry with marble counter top for the vanity. Rick built a custom counter top from wood that we salvaged from the beams in the dining room. New washer and dryer. Upgraded the wall base, mirror and light fixture. And, you guessed it....new paint and LVP flooring

B and A Sun Room & Hot Tub Room

These are two of my favorite transformations. It has to do with the fact that it didn't take much to make a huge impact! We removed the nasty carpeting and hunter green curtains from the sun room and the mauve vertical blinds from the hot tub room. Two coats of a special primer and two coats of paint completely transformed these spaces! We replaced parts for the hot tub, cleaned existing floor tile (my favorite original feature of the home) Wrapped up the refresh by painting the hot tub base.

B and A Master Bedroom

This room tied for having the grossest carpeting to pull out. We freshened up the space with new carpeting, paint and light fixture. We redesigned the layout of the closet shelves and rods and added in more storage for the new homeowners. We updated the hardware on the closet and passage doors to dark bronze. Adding the curtain panels helped make this space extra cozy.

B and A Main & Lower Baths

For these bathrooms we pretty much tore everything old out and replaced it will all things shiny and new. Some of the existing gems we demo'ed were grimy glass doors and old tubs, Hollywood style light fixtures and a mauve sink (with matching mauve vanity and mirror) We found random wallpaper in both bathrooms that had to go. A must on my list was converting the single vanity in the main bathroom to a double vanity. These two spaces are light, bright, airy and clean!

B and A Main Floor Bedrooms

Minor changes were needed in these rooms. New paint, carpeting, lighting, upgraded wall base and door hardware.

B and A Lower Level

My gut reaction was to paint everything in the space white...everything. After examining the paneling closer it is so beautiful. The craftsmanship that went into installing and staining it was evident. I could not cover it up with paint. We ripped down the wallpaper, tore out the old carpeting, installed 9 LED recessed fixtures and added a track lighting system behind the bar. I selected a modern carpet but kept the existing tile that was around the bar. I also refinished the bar top.

B and A Lower Level Fireplace

This was a time consuming project but oh, so worth it! Seeing that painted brick fireplace from the Foyer just draws you into the lower level. The painted brick modernized this whole area.

B and A Theater Room

We pulled down the water stained ivory acoustical tiled ceiling. We decided to go with a moody, black dropped ceiling and the results were pretty cool. Our cabinet maker custom fit a wood top to cover holes in the hearth and stained the mantle to match. This space needed some extra lighting so we added in a bright fixture in the center of the room and put it on a dimmer for maximum light options. The existing rusty orange sculpted carpeting was the worst thing we had to tear out of the house!

B and A Lower Bedroom

We referred to this room as the "Duck Room" It took my mom and I a solid day to remove all the wallpaper in here. Every piece of woodwork in this room was painted cornflower blue. A few coats ( 3 to be exact ) of SW Pure White paint on all of that revamped this bedroom. New carpet, an updated light fixture and SW Repose Gray for the walls....Done!
